Aleksandar Vučić said Sunday that he wants the “Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia” list to secure a decisive victory in Serbia’s October 25 election, setting a target of a 400,000 to 500,000-vote advantage over its rivals.

Speaking during a visit to Sremski Karlovci, Vučić argued that a strong result for the list would provide stability and continued development for Serbia.

Vučić calls on supporters to mobilize ahead of October 25 vote

Vučić told supporters that the outcome would depend on the campaign’s ability to mobilize voters and urged them to intensify their efforts ahead of election day.

He also criticized the so-called student list and several opposition figures, including Nenad Čanak and Bojan Pajtić, accusing his political opponents of pursuing policies that he described as harmful to Serbia.

Vučić claimed that his opponents would change Serbia’s policies toward Russia and Kosovo and raised concerns about their approach to the autonomy of Vojvodina. Those statements represented Vučić’s characterization of his political opponents and their positions.

Responding to criticism from Serbia Centre (SRCE) president Zdravko Ponoš, who accused the authorities of increasing pressure on citizens ahead of the election, Vučić rejected the allegation.

He argued that Serbian citizens were free to vote for any candidate or list and that their individual choices at the ballot box could not be determined by others.

Local infrastructure among priorities in Sremski Karlovci

During his visit, Vučić also met residents and discussed local infrastructure and development projects.

He said that, if his list receives voters’ support on October 25, priorities for Sremski Karlovci would include construction of an elementary school, a main water pipeline near Banstol and the paving of local streets.

According to Vučić, the Banstol water pipeline project would cost approximately €1.5 million, while addressing broader water supply issues in Sremski Karlovci would require between €5 million and €6 million.

He said work could begin within six months to a year if the necessary political support is secured.
