The number of Serbian citizens registered to vote abroad has more than doubled ahead of Serbia’s October 25 parliamentary elections, reaching 102,147 voters worldwide, according to figures reported by Savremena politika.
The United States accounts for 5,750 registered voters, placing it among the countries with the largest Serbian overseas electorates.
Registered voters abroad will be assigned to 93 polling stations worldwide, according to data published through Serbia’s Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government.
Serbian Voter Registration Rises Across the US and Europe
Germany has the largest number of registered overseas voters, with 20,107, followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina with 19,800.
Austria ranks third with 10,484 registered voters, followed by the United States with 5,750, Italy with 4,901 and Switzerland with 4,585.
Registration has more than doubled in each of these countries compared with the previous parliamentary elections.
Germany recorded one of the largest increases, rising from just over 6,000 registered voters to more than 20,000.
Despite the increase, Germany has only eight polling stations, including one in Stuttgart assigned more than 4,000 voters.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has added ten polling stations compared with the 2023 elections.
More Than 102,000 Serbians Registered Worldwide
Other countries with significant numbers of registered voters include Slovenia, France, Montenegro, Sweden and Norway.
In Sweden, registrations increased from 520 to 2,465, while Norway recorded an increase from 455 to 2,352.
Australia will have two polling stations for the first time, serving 1,014 registered voters.
The figures show a substantial rise in overseas voter registration compared with Serbia’s previous parliamentary elections.
However, the number of registered voters does not necessarily reflect how many people will ultimately cast ballots on Election Day.
Serbian citizens abroad are scheduled to vote on October 25, alongside voters in Serbia.
