Dr. Azra Sadiković has been named the new president of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), marking a leadership transition at an organization dedicated to connecting professionals and scholars in the United States with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The academy announced the appointment on October 18, during its annual gathering in Chicago, held from October 16 to 18.

Sadiković succeeds Professor Dr. Zlatan Akšamija, who previously served as the organization’s president.

New Leadership for the Bosnian-American Academic Community

Sadiković is affiliated with Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

Her appointment represents a new chapter for BHAAAS, an organization that brings together members of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian professional and academic community.

The academy emphasized the importance of continuing scientific cooperation and strengthening the exchange of knowledge between the United States and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The leadership transition was announced alongside the organization’s annual meeting, which brought its activities and professional network together in Chicago.

For the Bosnian-American community, the appointment highlights the continuing role of diaspora professionals in maintaining academic and institutional connections with their country of origin.
