Podgorica Court Annuls Boris Raonić’s Appointment as RTCG Director for Third Time

The Basic Court in Podgorica has annulled the decision of the Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG) Council appointing Boris Raonić as the general director of the public broadcaster for a four-year term, ordering a new selection process in accordance with the law.

This marks the third time a court has overturned decisions regarding Raonić’s appointment following lawsuits from other candidates. Judge Nikola Bošković issued the latest ruling after considering the appeal of Časlav Vujotić.

Previously, the court also annulled Raonić’s appointments after lawsuits filed by candidates Andrijana Kadija and Žarko Božović in July 2025, as well as by Slaven Knezović in October 2025. RTCG had appealed those decisions to the Higher Court.

The court found the August 2024 appointment unlawful and instructed the RTCG Council to carry out a new director selection among candidates meeting the requirements of the July 2024 competition.

Raonić has stated that if the ruling becomes final, his tenure as head of the public broadcaster will come to an end.
