Euphoria in Bosnia After World Cup Qualification: Thousands Celebrate in the Streets

The national football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrated its qualification for the World Cup with the song “U.S.A.” by Dubioza Kolektiv. With the lyrics “I am from Bosnia, take me to America,” the players burst into head coach Sergej Barbarez’s press conference, putting on a show.

Afterwards, the same song echoed through the streets of Sarajevo, where, according to Bosnian media, around 100,000 people gathered to celebrate and welcome the national team. Alongside Dubioza’s hit, fans also sang other popular songs, including “Bosnom behar probeharao” by Dino Merlin.

The song effectively became the soundtrack of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s journey to the World Cup in the United States. Members of Dubioza Kolektiv performed it together with fans before and after the match in Zenica, while “U.S.A.” was also played across Sarajevo, where tens of thousands of supporters gathered to celebrate the team’s success.

For the record, Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved a historic milestone by qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The “Dragons” secured their place after a dramatic match against Italy in Zenica, decided on penalties (1–1, 4–1).
