Luka Modrić has added another milestone to his already exceptional career, after being named Croatia’s best footballer for the 13th consecutive year. The latest recognition further underlines his lasting influence and continued importance at the highest level of the game.
The Croatian Football Federation presented the award to Modrić at Milanello, with former Croatia international Dario Šimić handing over the honor. What gives the accolade added weight is that the winner is chosen by Croatian players themselves, making it a direct reflection of the respect Modrić continues to command among his peers.
Even at 41, the Croatian captain remains a key figure for Milan this season. Across 34 appearances, he has scored twice and contributed two assists, maintaining the consistency and leadership that have defined his career for years.
This latest award is not only recognition of another strong season, but also a sign that Modrić’s status in Croatian football remains unmatched.
