Montenegro’s authorities are investigating a new wave of bomb threats after emails warning of possible attacks on 24 schools were sent to several state institutions and media outlets.
According to the information released so far, the messages were delivered to the Montenegrin government, the police, the National Security Agency and several news organizations. The sender did not specify the names of the schools allegedly targeted, stating only that the threats referred to both primary and secondary schools.
Local media reports say the case has raised renewed concern, particularly as similar warnings have recently disrupted schools elsewhere in the region. Earlier this week, evacuations were carried out in Bar, as well as in Zagreb and Split in Croatia, and in the Mostar and Tuzla areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina, following comparable threats.
The latest incident adds to a broader regional pattern of security alerts affecting educational institutions. Authorities are expected to continue checks and verification procedures as they work to determine the credibility and origin of the emails.
