Eric Trump appeared on Mornings with Maria on Fox Business at a time when, according to multiple media reports, his company Foundation Industries has come under scrutiny over contracts with U.S. government institutions worth around $24 million.
In the studio, he was joined by CEO Sanket Pathak, promoting the company as part of a new generation of technology players in the defense and robotics sector. Special emphasis was placed on the development of humanoid robots, which the company presents as tools with potential for a wide range of applications, from military operations to civilian industries.
“This is a race we have to win,” Eric Trump said, highlighting global competition in the development of advanced technologies. In the same vein, he described the U.S. economy as a leading force capable of shaping the future of artificial intelligence and robotics. In his remarks, Trump sought to soften the military context of the technology, describing the robots as “friendly” systems that respond to human interaction: greeting people, following commands, and simulating social gestures. According to him, the introduction of autonomous AI would have far reaching consequences not only for the defense industry but also for everyday sectors such as hospitality.
However, part of the public and media have raised questions about the transparency of the process through which the company secured government contracts. Sources say Foundation Industries has received research funding from the United States Army, the United States Navy, and the United States Air Force, and is also mentioned as participating in the SBIR Phase 3 program, placing it on the list of qualified suppliers for military procurement.
Additional controversy stems from the company’s links to members of the Trump family while the contracts are being carried out during a period when Donald Trump again holds a significant political role. Critics point to a possible conflict of interest, although in political circles, especially within the Republican Party, there has so far been no broader public opposition.
In a broader context, media reports also recall other business ventures connected to the Trump family, ranging from commercial products and media projects to cryptocurrency initiatives and marketing campaigns tied to a political brand. According to critics, some of these activities blur the line between business, politics, and public office.
