Macedonia recorded a notable result at the International Chemistry Olympiad, with two students earning bronze medals and securing one of the country’s most significant achievements in the competition to date.
The medal winners were Teona Ana Georgievska, a fourth-year student at Yahya Kemal College in Skopje, and Daniel Hristov, a fourth-year student at Slavcho Stojmenski High School in Shtip. Georgievska’s distinction carries additional importance, as she became the first female student from Macedonia to win a medal at this prestigious international event.
The national team also included Daniel Hristovski, a third-year student at Yahya Kemal College in Skopje, and Georgi Nikoloski, a fourth-year student at Mirche Acev High School in Prilep.
The Union of Chemists and Technologists of Macedonia welcomed the result and also expressed appreciation to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Skopje, Lukoil Macedonia, and the Municipality of Prilep for their support.
The outcome marks another encouraging moment for Macedonia’s young science talent and highlights the growing presence of the country’s students on the international academic stage.
