The UFC is officially coming to Serbia, marking a major moment for mixed martial arts fans in the region.
After weeks of speculation, the world’s leading MMA organization confirmed that it will hold its first-ever event in Belgrade on August 1. The fights will take place at Belgrade Arena, where the famous Octagon will be set up in front of a Serbian audience for the first time.
The announcement was also shared through the UFC’s official X account with a direct message to fans: “Serbia, we’re coming! The Octagon lands in Belgrade for the first time on August 1.”
The event represents the UFC’s return to the wider Balkan region after nearly a decade. The organization last held an event in this part of Europe in 2016, when Zagreb hosted a UFC show. That makes the Belgrade event especially significant, both for Serbian fight fans and for the growing MMA scene in Southeast Europe.
UFC President and CEO Dana White also confirmed the news, saying the organization remains committed to expanding into major markets around the world. According to White, Serbia is now part of that global strategy, and fans can expect a high-level fight card, strong production and a major sporting spectacle.
While the full list of fighters has not yet been announced, the confirmation alone has already created excitement among regional MMA supporters. With Belgrade Arena as the venue and the UFC brand behind the event, August 1 is expected to be one of the biggest combat sports nights ever held in Serbia.
