Nestlé Marks 20 Years in Bosnia and Herzegovina with Focus on Community and Sustainable Growth

Nestlé has marked two decades of operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting not only its business growth but also its long-term commitment to the local community.

The anniversary event was held at Sarajevo City Hall, bringing together more than 100 guests, including representatives of the diplomatic community, local institutions, business partners and company employees.

Laurentiu-Florin Dimitriu, General Manager of Nestlé for Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, said the anniversary represented an important milestone for the company and its team.

He noted that over the past 20 years Nestlé had worked to build trust, develop the market and establish strong foundations for future growth. According to him, the company is proud of what has been achieved so far and remains focused on a stronger and more sustainable future in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The celebration was also attended by senior Nestlé representatives from the company’s European leadership, including Guillaume Le Cunff, Head of Nestlé Zone Europe, Jacques Reber, Head of Human Resources for Zone Europe, Alessandro Zanelli, Regional Manager for Zone Europe, and Giuseppe Carella, Head of Nestlé’s South East Europe market. In their remarks, they emphasized that the company’s success is measured not only through business results, but also through its impact on people and society.

One of the most emotional moments of the evening came through video presentations dedicated to Nestlé’s partners and employees. Special recognitions were also awarded to employees who have been part of the company since the beginning of its operations in the country.

The event also looked back at 2006, when Nestlé products such as Nescafé and Thomy first appeared on shelves in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today, the company holds a strong position in categories such as coffee and Purina pet food, while also maintaining a connection with local consumer habits through products developed specifically for the domestic market, including Tarhana soup and Začin C with Tuzla salt.

Nestlé also used the occasion to underline its social responsibility activities. Among the highlighted initiatives was the Zdravo! program, which has educated children about healthy habits for more than 15 years. The company also pointed to its Čista umjetnost initiative, through which 20,000 seedlings were donated to support Bosnia and Herzegovina’s forest resources.

In addition, Nestlé emphasized its continued cooperation with the humanitarian organization Pomozi.ba, describing it as part of its broader commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society.

The anniversary celebration ended with the symbolic cutting of a birthday cake, followed by an informal gathering and musical program. The company said it will continue to focus on innovation, sustainability and responsible business development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
