The Omiš wildfire damage includes 106 vehicles, 28 homes and 45 boats completely destroyed in a major blaze along Croatia’s Adriatic coast. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
The wildfire swept through the Lokva Rogoznica and Omiš area during the night of August 13–14.
Buildings and Boats Destroyed
Split-Dalmatia County Prefect Blaženko Boban disclosed the extent of the destruction following the fire.
Seven commercial buildings and three hospitality establishments were completely destroyed. Six auxiliary structures located beside family homes also burned down.
The Omiš wildfire damage extended to 45 boats that had been pulled from the water and stored onshore. All of them were completely destroyed.
Authorities have not yet determined what caused the large fire.
