A French citizen has been reported missing in the coastal town of Tivat, Montenegro, prompting police and his family to launch a search for information about his whereabouts. Paul Andrea Legrand has not been in contact with his family for several weeks, and Montenegrin authorities are now carrying out search measures to locate him. The Tivat Security Department confirmed on September 2 that it had been informed about the case by the Montenegrin Police Directorate the previous day. Legrand’s family had initially tried to find information about him through social media groups used by foreigners living in or visiting Montenegro before formally reporting the disappearance through French authorities. The case was subsequently passed to Montenegrin authorities, who have now begun checking available information and possible leads.
According to information provided by his family, Legrand was last in contact with them on August 10. They later sent him messages and emails on August 28 but received no response, increasing their concern that something may have happened to him. Reports indicate that he had been staying in accommodation in the Mažina area of Tivat. His family says that he has also not appeared active on his social media accounts since around the middle of August and that they determined he had not been staying at his apartment. French authorities became involved after the family reported his disappearance to France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, which then contacted Montenegro’s Ministry of Internal Affairs. The information was subsequently forwarded to police in Tivat, where an investigation and search operation are now underway.
Legrand is described as being approximately 188 to 190 centimeters tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. His family says he may currently have long hair and a long beard, although his appearance could differ from photographs available to the public. Police in Tivat have appealed to anyone who may have seen him or has information about his movements to contact the nearest police station or the Tivat Security Department. Authorities say several pieces of information have already been processed as part of the search, while checks have also been sent to other countries in the region and across Montenegro. Police have issued an official notice concerning the missing man as efforts continue to establish where he may have gone and when he was last seen.
The search remains active, and authorities are asking members of the public to come forward with any information that could help locate Legrand. His disappearance has also prompted concern among the foreign community in Tivat, where his family and friends have been seeking assistance through local networks and social media groups. Police officials have stressed that even seemingly small details about his movements or possible sightings could be important to the investigation. At this stage, authorities have not publicly provided information indicating what may have happened to him, and the circumstances of his disappearance remain unclear. The investigation therefore continues as police work to establish his last known movements and determine where he could currently be.
