American actor RJ Mitte, best known for playing Walter White Jr. in the hit television series Breaking Bad, has died at the age of 34.

TMZ reported that Mitte died on Monday, October 12, in Texas. A county official confirmed his death to the outlet.

According to TMZ, authorities are investigating the circumstances of his death.

Mitte’s representatives also confirmed the news in a statement shared with TMZ. They remembered him as an actor, philanthropist and disability rights advocate.

RJ Mitte Became Famous Through Breaking Bad

Mitte played Walter “Flynn” White Jr., the son of Walter White, in AMC’s award-winning series Breaking Bad.

He appeared in 56 episodes of the show, which starred Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul.

Like his character, Mitte lived with cerebral palsy. His personal experience helped shape his performance and his work as an advocate.

Beyond Breaking Bad, he appeared in films and television projects such as The Oak Room, The Recall and The Guardians of Justice.

Actor Also Advocated for Disability Rights

Mitte used his public platform to support people with disabilities and encourage greater inclusion in entertainment.

He served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s.

In interviews, he also spoke about the need for more opportunities for actors with disabilities in Hollywood.

Earlier this month, Mitte appeared in social media posts with his former Breaking Bad co-star Luis Moncada.

He was engaged to Kennedy Suarez. The couple announced their engagement in 2025.

Mitte’s work on Breaking Bad and his advocacy for disability representation formed an important part of his career.
