Serbian NBA superstar Nikola Jokic has become a global ambassador for Sprite, joining Anthony Edwards in a new international basketball campaign. The Coca-Cola Company announced the partnership on October 12.
The three-time NBA MVP will appear in Sprite’s global campaign, titled “Never Stop Refreshing the Game.”
The partnership also marks Sprite’s return as the NBA’s official global soft drink.
Nikola Jokic Tries Stand-Up Comedy in Sprite Commercial
Jokic shows a different side of his personality in the new advertisement.
Instead of dominating a basketball court, the Denver Nuggets center steps onto a comedy club stage.
He attempts to entertain the audience with jokes, but receives little laughter.
The commercial uses Jokic’s dry humor and reserved personality to introduce his new role with the brand.
His manager, Misko Raznatovic, confirmed the partnership on Instagram.
Raznatovic revealed that the commercial was filmed last month in Sombor, Jokic’s hometown in Serbia.
He described the partnership as the most significant marketing agreement of his career.
The financial details of Jokic’s contract have not been disclosed.
Jokic Joins Anthony Edwards in Global Campaign
Jokic will represent Sprite alongside Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.
The campaign will run internationally through 2027, reaching audiences across North America, Europe and other regions.
Sprite also plans to release limited-edition cans featuring the two basketball stars.
Fans will be able to scan QR codes for opportunities to win basketball merchandise and other prizes.
The company announced additional activities connected to basketball courts, video games and major NBA events.
Jokic joins a long history of NBA stars associated with Sprite, including LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett.
The partnership adds another major international endorsement to the Serbian center’s career.
