FBI and Macedonia’s Ministry of Interior First-Ever Joint Cyber Operation, Arrest OLVX Marketplace Administrator

A joint operation between the FBI and Macedonia’s Ministry of Interior has resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-old man accused of administering OLVX, an illegal online marketplace that allegedly sold stolen personal information and login credentials.

The FBI congratulated its partners at the Cybercrime Unit of Macedonia’s Bureau of Public Security following the operation, describing it as the first-ever joint cyber operation coordinated between the two agencies.

According to the FBI, OLVX operated between 2023 and 2025 and allegedly sold victims’ personally identifiable information and account login credentials through more than 1,500 seller accounts. The marketplace posed a potential threat to the digital security of thousands of American citizens.

Suspect Charged

Macedonia’s Ministry of Interior reported that a 20-year-old resident of Golema Rečica, in the Tetovo area, identified by the initials E.A., was arrested in connection with the investigation.

The Cybercrime and Digital Forensics Sector filed criminal charges against the suspect for computer fraud, misuse of personal data, and the production and distribution of child pornography, according to the ministry.

The charges relate to alleged criminal activities uncovered during the investigation. The allegations have not, by themselves, established the suspect’s guilt.

International Cooperation Against Cybercrime

The operation marks a significant milestone in cybersecurity cooperation between the United States and Macedonia. By working together, investigators sought to disrupt an online marketplace allegedly used to trade stolen information and compromise victims’ digital security.

The FBI emphasized the importance of international partnerships in combating cybercrime, which increasingly crosses national borders and affects individuals and organizations worldwide.

The successful operation highlights the role of cooperation between law enforcement agencies in identifying suspected cybercriminals, disrupting illicit online platforms, and protecting sensitive personal information.
