Croatia has marked a significant milestone in its military relations with the United States as Major General Denis Tretinjak, Director of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, was inducted into the International Hall of Fame of the U.S. Army War College.
The ceremony took place at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, recognizing Tretinjak’s leadership, professional achievements and contributions to military service.
He becomes only the second Croatian to receive this distinction, following former Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Damir Krstičević, who was inducted in 2018.
Strengthening Croatia–U.S. Defense Relations
The ceremony was attended by Croatian State Secretary Tomislav Galić and Croatia’s Defense Attaché to the United States, Brigadier General Ivica Kranjčević.
The recognition highlights the professionalism of the Croatian Armed Forces and the longstanding defense partnership between Croatia and the United States.
It also underscores the importance of professional military education in preparing military leaders to navigate an increasingly complex international security environment.
The U.S. Army War College, located at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, provides advanced education for military officers and civilian leaders, preparing them for senior leadership responsibilities and strategic decision-making.
A Proud Moment for Croatia
Tretinjak’s induction represents a notable achievement for the Croatian military and adds to the record of Croatian leaders recognized by the prestigious institution.
The honor reflects both his individual career and the broader cooperation between Croatian and American defense institutions.
Congratulations to Major General Denis Tretinjak on this distinguished recognition — a proud moment for him, the Croatian Armed Forces and Croatia.
