Nišville 2026 has opened in Serbia, bringing more than 1,000 performers to the historic Niš Fortress for four days of music, culture and international performances. The 32nd edition of the Nišville Jazz Festival runs from August 13 to 16 and features a programme that goes far beyond traditional jazz. Visitors can enjoy jazz, rock, blues, world music and a wide range of other cultural events. This year’s festival includes nearly 300 events spread across more than 20 stages. Artists from Serbia, the wider region and countries around the world are taking part in the programme. The event has become one of Serbia’s most important international cultural festivals. It also attracts audiences looking for different musical styles and cultural experiences in one location.
Among the biggest names appearing at Nišville 2026 are Grammy Award winning saxophonist and clarinetist Paquito D’Rivera, the Vlatko Stefanovski Trio, Incognito, Kyoto Jazz Massive, The Amy Winehouse Band and Boney M featuring Maizie Williams. The festival will also showcase Balkan musical traditions through performances by groups including KAL. A special programme will mark the 90th anniversary of the birth of legendary Serbian and Romani musician Šaban Bajramović. This year’s edition is also expanding its programme with a special evening dedicated to the history of the Niš rock scene. The August 16 programme will feature bands such as Daltoni, Galija, Bohemia and Lavina. This addition gives the festival a stronger connection to the city’s own musical history. It also demonstrates how Nišville continues to expand beyond its original jazz focus.
Nišville has developed into a much broader cultural event over the years. Alongside concerts, the programme includes theatre, film, literature, visual arts, comics, caricatures and activities for children. The festival’s long running youth and volunteer programmes also bring together young musicians and participants from Serbia and abroad. These activities have helped establish Nišville as a cultural platform rather than simply a series of concerts. Thousands of visitors are expected to attend during the four day event. Artists arriving from different parts of the world will transform the historic Niš Fortress into a major summer cultural destination.
