Serbia Recalls Ambassadors From Six Countries

Serbia has recalled six ambassadors serving in Russia, the Vatican, Belgium, Morocco, Azerbaijan and Portugal.

President Aleksandar Vučić signed the recall decrees on September 3. The decisions were officially published in Serbia’s Official Gazette on September 8.

Six Diplomats Recalled

The ambassadors recalled from their positions are:

  • Momčilo Babić — Russia
  • Sima Avramović — the Holy See at the Vatican
  • Aleksandar Tasić — Belgium
  • Ivan Bauer — Morocco
  • Dragan Vladisavljević — Azerbaijan
  • Ana Ilić — Portugal

All six diplomats served as Serbia’s ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary.

The published decisions did not provide reasons for the recalls or identify who will replace the ambassadors.
