Serbian Ambassador Stefan Tomašević visited the memorial dedicated to Field Marshal Radomir Putnik in Alberta, honoring the Serbian military leader and the community’s efforts to preserve his legacy in Canada.

The memorial is located at the foot of Mount Putnik in the Kananaskis mountain range, in the Canadian province of Alberta.

A Memorial Honoring Field Marshal Radomir Putnik

Mount Putnik was named in 1918 in honor of Field Marshal Radomir Putnik. A memorial plaque dedicated to him was installed in 2012 through the efforts of the Serbian community in Alberta.

During his visit, Ambassador Stefan Tomašević highlighted the importance of preserving the memory of Field Marshal Putnik and the history associated with his legacy.

Serbian Heritage Preserved in Alberta

The ambassador also emphasized the role of the Serbian community in Alberta in preserving the memory of the Serbian people’s struggle for liberation and maintaining Serbian historical and cultural heritage in Canada.

The memorial remains a symbol of this history and of the Serbian community’s continued efforts to preserve its heritage for future generations.
