Air Serbia will introduce nonstop flights between Belgrade and Miami on May 20, 2027, expanding its North American network and creating another direct connection between the Balkans and the United States. Tickets are already available for booking.
Air Serbia is expanding its international network with six new destinations planned for 2027, including Miami, the Serbian national carrier announced.
The new Belgrade–Miami route is scheduled to launch on May 20, 2027, with two flights per week, according to the airline’s announcement published by the Serbian Tourism Organization.
Jiří Marek, Air Serbia’s chief executive officer, announced the expansion during an appearance on Radio Television of Serbia’s Dnevnik 2 on October 19.
Miami will become Air Serbia’s third destination in the United States, joining New York and Chicago. The airline also operates services to Toronto, Canada, further strengthening its North American network.
A New Connection for the Balkan Diaspora
The direct Miami service is expected to provide another travel option for passengers from Serbia and neighboring countries, as well as members of the Balkan diaspora living in Florida and elsewhere in the United States.
The route will also offer additional opportunities for travelers connecting through Belgrade to destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean.
For passengers in the region, the new service could reduce the need to travel through other European hubs when planning trips to South Florida.
Air Serbia has been steadily developing its long-haul operations in recent years, with North America remaining an important part of its international expansion strategy.
Five More Destinations Planned for 2027
Alongside Miami, Air Serbia plans to introduce five additional destinations from Belgrade during the 2027 travel season.
The planned launch dates are:
- Yerevan, Armenia: March 28, 2027.
- Helsinki, Finland: April 1, 2027.
- Miami, Florida: May 20, 2027.
- Cluj-Napoca, Romania: May 31, 2027.
- Chișinău, Moldova: June 3, 2027.
- Mahón, Menorca, Spain: June 16, 2027.
The airline plans to operate the Yerevan service three times weekly initially, increasing to four flights per week from mid-June. Helsinki will be served three times weekly, while Cluj-Napoca and Chișinău are scheduled to receive four weekly flights. Menorca will have two weekly services during the summer season.
The expansion is part of Air Serbia’s broader strategy to strengthen Belgrade’s position as a regional aviation hub and improve connections between Europe and other international markets.
The airline also plans to expand its fleet during 2027 to provide additional capacity for its growing network.
More Travel Options for 2027
The new routes will give passengers more choices for business travel, holidays and connections through Belgrade, with Miami standing out as a significant addition to the airline’s intercontinental network.
Air Serbia has confirmed May 20, 2027, as the planned inaugural date for the Miami route, with two weekly flights initially scheduled. Travelers can check availability and fares through the airline’s official website.
The launch marks another step in strengthening direct air links between the Balkans and North America, particularly for travelers who maintain family, business and cultural connections across the Atlantic.
