Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the United States has resumed sharing intelligence warnings about Russian missile attacks. The announcement followed high-level talks in Oslo, Norway, on Tuesday, October 20.

Ukraine had reportedly gone a week without receiving the usual American early warnings. The interruption raised concerns about the country’s ability to prepare for incoming ballistic missiles.

Now, Zelenskyy says the system is working again.

“We are thankful that intelligence works now,” he told reporters. “I think we will have good results.”

The announcement came as Washington renewed diplomatic discussions with Ukraine and European leaders. However, several questions remain about military assistance and efforts to end the war.

Zelenskyy Expects Progress on Patriot Missiles and Starlink

Before the Oslo meetings, Zelenskyy spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Their conversation addressed Ukraine’s air defenses and the restoration of intelligence cooperation. They also discussed restrictions affecting Starlink satellite communications.

According to Zelenskyy, progress on these issues could become clear within 48 hours.

Ukraine has repeatedly requested additional Patriot missile interceptors to defend its cities against Russian attacks. Delays in military supplies have increased pressure on Kyiv as the war continues.

Meanwhile, the restored intelligence warnings could help Ukrainian authorities respond more quickly to incoming strikes.

The Oslo discussions brought together Zelenskyy and US special envoy Steve Witkoff. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Finnish President Alexander Stubb also participated.

Jared Kushner joined the talks remotely.

The leaders discussed possible steps toward a peace agreement. Security guarantees for Ukraine were also part of the agenda.

US Envoy Prepares for Talks With Russia

Following the Oslo meeting, Norwegian Prime Minister Støre said Witkoff would travel to St. Petersburg.

There, the American envoy is expected to present proposals developed during discussions with Ukrainian and European officials.

The diplomatic effort comes amid continuing disagreements over the terms of a possible settlement.

Kyiv insists that Ukraine must participate in decisions affecting its territory and future security.

Zelenskyy also addressed the possibility of negotiations involving the United States, Russia and China.

He said Ukraine could not accept discussions about its future without Ukrainian representatives present.

The Ukrainian president also raised concerns about cooperation between Russia and Iran.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine has evidence that Russian drone components reached Iran. He further alleged that Moscow shares satellite intelligence with Tehran.

Those allegations were not independently verified in the reports reviewed.

Despite the diplomatic activity, Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine continues to suffer human losses.

“Of course we are not losing,” he said when asked about the war. “But we are losing people because of Russian attacks and time.”

For now, the restoration of American intelligence warnings represents a concrete development in US-Ukraine cooperation. Whether the Oslo talks produce broader agreements remains uncertain.
