Macedonian musicians Jovan Jovanov and Toni Zen are bringing back a familiar musical story 18 years after the release of their popular song Itno Mi Trebash (I Urgently Need You).

The two artists have recorded a new track titled Ushte Mi Trebash (I Still Need You). They plan to premiere it at the Makfest music festival on October 31, 2026.

The new song revisits the story behind the original hit, which Jovanov and Toni Zen performed alongside singer Lambe Alabakovski.

A New Chapter for a Familiar Macedonian Hit

The original Itno Mi Trebash became a memorable song for listeners who followed Macedonia’s pop and hip-hop scene in the late 2000s.

Now, Jovanov and Toni Zen are returning to that musical story with a different perspective.

While the first song focused on attraction during a night out, the sequel explores memories and feelings that have remained over time.

According to Jovanov, the new track carries a more emotional message than its predecessor.

The song reflects on a past connection rather than the excitement of meeting someone for the first time.

Jovanov composed the music and co-wrote the lyrics with Toni Zen. He also worked on the production alongside Ivan Jovanov.

The artists have chosen Makfest, one of Macedonia’s established music festivals, to introduce the new track to audiences.

Makfest Premiere Scheduled for October 31

Jovanov and Toni Zen will perform Ushte Mi Trebash at Makfest on Saturday, October 31.

A music video is also expected to follow the festival premiere, although an exact release date has not been announced.

The collaboration brings together two recognizable names from Macedonia’s music scene.

For listeners who remember the original track, the sequel offers an opportunity to revisit a song associated with their younger years.

It may also introduce the artists’ earlier work to audiences discovering their music for the first time.

The upcoming premiere comes as nostalgia for music from the 2000s continues to inspire reunions and new recordings across the region.

For Macedonians living abroad, songs from that period often remain part of their connection to the country’s popular culture.

The new track will reveal how Jovanov and Toni Zen have reimagined their original musical story nearly two decades later.
