After a decade-long absence from the media spotlight, one of Macedonia’s most recognizable television personalities, Marija Glavcheva, has officially announced her professional comeback with a pioneering digital project. Titled “Marija vo Amerika” (Marija in America), the program is the first podcast recorded and broadcast in the Macedonian language directly from the United States, specifically originating from the Chicago area.
The podcast aims to serve as a digital bridge between the homeland and the diaspora by sharing the authentic stories of Macedonians who have built lives and homes far away from their native land. Glavcheva, who began her career at 14 in Gevgelija and later worked for major outlets such as MRT (Macedonian Television), Kanal 5, and Skynet, brings extensive professional experience to the platform. During her career in Macedonia, she worked on high-profile projects such as “Mak Zvezdi,” “Vo Trend,” and “Sky Selection” before relocating to America a decade ago.
“Marija vo Amerika” will feature a diverse range of guests, including famous musicians and successful professionals, as well as “totally unknown” individuals with extraordinary and inspiring life paths. The show promises to explore the “secrets of life” and the various fates of Macedonians abroad, covering stories that range from happy and celebratory to sad and inspirational. Marija also intends to share her own “unusual and inspiring” life story during the series.
Viewers can catch the podcast every Wednesday at 7:00 PM Macedonian time (12:00 PM US time). The episodes are available on the “Marija vo Amerika” YouTube channel and on Facebook and Instagram. The first upcoming episode features an “extraordinary and unique woman” as the primary guest.
