U.S. President Donald Trump vowed to avenge the deaths of three American soldiers killed in operations against Iran, warning that further losses may still occur as the campaign continues.
In a video address posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said the United States would respond decisively to what he described as acts of terror against civilization.
“Unfortunately, there will probably be more before it’s over. But we will do everything possible to ensure that is not the case wherever possible,” he said.
The U.S. military confirmed that three American service members were killed and five others seriously wounded, marking the first casualties in the ongoing operations against Iran. Trump expressed condolences to the families of the fallen troops, calling them “true American patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation,” and asked for prayers for the full recovery of the five injured soldiers.
According to the president, the United States will avenge their deaths and “deliver the heaviest blow to the terrorists who declared war on civilization.”
Trump described the joint U.S.-Israeli assault as one of the largest and most complex military offensives ever carried out.
“No one has ever seen anything like it,” he said.
He added that the combined forces had struck hundreds of targets inside Iran, including facilities belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iranian air defense systems.
“It was announced that we destroyed nine ships, plus their naval headquarters building, everything literally within a few minutes,” the president stated.
Trump said the United States is conducting a massive operation not only for present security but also “for our time and place, and for our children and their children.”
He concluded his address with a direct warning to Iranian leaders and military forces.
“We are the greatest and most powerful nation in the world. These intolerable threats will not continue any longer. Once again, I call on the Revolutionary Guard and the Iranian military police to lay down their weapons and receive full immunity or face certain death. And death certainly will not be pleasant,” Trump said.
He also called on “Iranian patriots who long for freedom” to seize the moment and courageously reclaim their country.
“America is with you,” he declared.
