A commemorative session marking the anniversary of the tragedy in Kocani will be held today in the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, starting at 11:00 a.m.
Members of Parliament are expected to pay tribute to the victims of the disaster in which 63 people lost their lives. At the same time, dozens of families and communities across the country continue to mourn the victims.
The session was initially scheduled for March 16, the exact date of the tragedy, but it was later moved several days earlier due to the parliamentary agenda.
The tragedy in Kocani occurred on March 16, 2025, when a fire broke out at the Pulse nightclub. The blaze resulted in the deaths of 63 people and left around 200 others injured, many of whom required medical treatment in hospitals across the country.
The incident shocked the public in North Macedonia and prompted a nationwide response, including days of mourning, solidarity actions, and calls for stricter safety standards in public venues.
The commemorative session in parliament is expected to include addresses by parliamentary representatives and a moment of silence in memory of the victims of one of the deadliest tragedies in the country’s recent history.
