Shop Assistant Confronts Armed Robber in Mostar as Dramatic Video Captures Struggle

A dramatic attempted armed robbery in the Zalik neighborhood of Mostar has drawn widespread attention after surveillance footage showed a shop assistant physically confronting a man who entered the store armed with an automatic rifle, leading to a direct struggle and a gunshot being fired during the incident.

According to reports, the suspect entered the shop wearing dark clothing and initially behaved normally before pulling out a rifle and demanding money. Instead of complying, the shop assistant stood her ground and moved toward the attacker, which quickly escalated into a physical confrontation as the two struggled over control of the weapon. During the altercation, the attacker repeatedly struck the woman in the head, but she continued resisting and did not allow him to carry out the robbery.

At one point during the struggle, a shot was fired from the rifle, but no injuries were reported. The incident ended with the perpetrator fleeing the scene without taking money, while the employee remained in the store.

Police confirmed that they were notified of the armed robbery attempt and immediately dispatched patrol units to the location. According to the initial statement provided by the employee, the suspect was an unidentified male who entered the premises armed, demanded money, and became involved in a physical struggle before discharging the firearm. Authorities said the case is under investigation and that all necessary measures are being taken to identify and locate the suspect.

The video of the incident, which circulated widely on social media, highlighted the intensity of the confrontation and the unusual response of the employee, whose actions prevented the robbery from being completed.
