Trump mocks: “There Has Never Been a Leader of a Country Who Wanted The Job Less Than The One Leading Iran”

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran is very interested in reaching a deal, but cannot show it openly because its leaders fear the reaction of their own regime and the U.S. side. Speaking about the situation in the Middle East, Trump said that Tehran is negotiating and “very much wants to make a deal,” but is afraid to admit it publicly.

“They are negotiating and very much want to make a deal, but they are afraid to say it because they think their own people will kill them. They are also afraid that we will kill them,” Trump said. He continued by saying that he has never seen a leader of a country who wanted the job as little as the Iranian leader.

“There has never been a leader of a country who wanted the job less than the one leading Iran. We hear some of the things they say; we hear them very clearly,” Trump said.

His statements come amid the ongoing war and growing speculation about a possible deal between Washington and Tehran. In recent days, the Iranian side has publicly rejected claims that it is negotiating with the U.S., while Trump simultaneously asserted that progress has been made and that a deal is possible.
