Duško Vujošević, one of the most influential figures in regional basketball, has passed away after a long battle with serious health problems. He had been dealing with multiple medical complications recently, including heart, kidney, and respiratory issues, which had significantly affected his condition in the period leading up to his death.
Vujošević was widely regarded as one of the most successful and respected coaches in the history of Balkan basketball. Over the course of his career, he built a strong legacy, particularly through his work with Partizan Belgrade, where he led the team to numerous domestic and regional titles and helped develop generations of players.
His career also included international experience and roles with national teams, further cementing his reputation as a key figure in the sport across the former Yugoslav region. Beyond trophies and results, he was recognized for his influence on the development of young talent and for shaping modern basketball structures in the region.
In the final phase of his life, Vujošević faced a series of serious health challenges, including complications following a kidney transplant, as well as pneumonia and cardiovascular problems, which required hospitalization and intensive medical care.
