An ambitious project has been announced in Washington to mark the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, with the White House revealing the official name of the future monument: the “Triumphal Arch of the United States.”
According to the plans, the monument is being planned as an impressive structure about 250 feet tall, or more than 76 meters, which would make it significantly taller than the famous Arc de Triomphe in Paris, which stands at around 165 feet tall.
The project is intended not only as a symbolic landmark for the anniversary but also as an attempt to set new global standards for this architectural form. With its height, the American version would surpass the Monument to the Revolution in Mexico (220 feet) and the Arch of Triumph in North Korea (197 feet), placing it at the top among such monuments worldwide.
