Croatian Lottery Player Wins Nearly €230,000 on a €1 Ticket

A lottery player from the Croatian town of Slatina has claimed a jackpot worth €229,875.04 after matching the winning numbers in Monday’s Lotto 6 draw. The prize was secured with one of four number combinations on a ticket that cost just €1.

The winner collected the prize at the Croatian Lottery’s main office in Zagreb, marking what he described as the first major win of his life. A regular participant in Lotto 6, Lotto 7 and Eurojackpot, he said he had long believed that one day his persistence would pay off.

According to his account, he usually plays the same numbers, although after this win he plans to change his strategy. Even so, he says he will continue taking part in games of chance as before.

Despite the sizeable prize, the winner said his priorities remain unchanged, stressing that health and family matter far more than money. He added that the windfall brings new opportunities, but does not alter what he values most in life.

He learned about the result through social media, then checked the numbers himself and realized he had become richer by nearly €230,000. He shared the news only with his closest relatives and said he intends to give part of the winnings to them as well.
