Dario Ivanovski Dominates Dubrovnik Half Marathon and Sets New Course Record

Macedonian long-distance runner Dario Ivanovski has delivered another strong performance, winning the Dubrovnik Half Marathon in convincing fashion and setting a new course record.

Ivanovski, 28, completed the 21-kilometer race in 1 hour, 6 minutes and 30 seconds, finishing well ahead of the competition. Croatia’s Silvije Tomač took second place with a time of 1:14:05, while Željko Cota, also from Croatia, finished third in 1:14:23.

The result confirms Ivanovski’s dominance on the Dubrovnik course. He also won the same race last year, when he set the previous course record with a time of 1:08:02. This year, he improved that mark by more than a minute and a half.

His latest victory comes during a strong period of form. Just one week earlier, Ivanovski finished second at the Belgrade Marathon, one of the region’s most recognized road races, missing the win by only 24 seconds behind Ethiopia’s Gudeta Gmiasis.

Ivanovski has also been highly successful on home soil. At last year’s 21st edition of the Wizz Air Skopje Marathon, he won the full marathon race, completing the 42.195-kilometer distance in 2:14:50. It was his second triumph in Skopje, following his earlier victory in 2021.

With another course record in Dubrovnik, Ivanovski continues to strengthen his status as one of Macedonia’s most successful distance runners and one of the leading names in regional athletics.
