Kavadarci and Budva have officially established a sister city partnership, opening a new chapter of cooperation centered on tourism, culture, sports, youth policies, agriculture, and economic development.
The memorandum was signed by Mitko Janchev together with the President of the Council, Dr. Stojancho Ramov, while the Municipality of Budva was represented by Council President Petar Odžić.
The agreement creates a framework for deeper collaboration between the two municipalities across several sectors, with both sides expressing strong commitment to building a long term partnership and encouraging closer ties between local communities.
Particular emphasis will be placed on tourism promotion and cultural exchange, as well as the organization of joint events in the fields of sports and culture. Budva, one of the Adriatic coast’s best known tourist destinations, and Kavadarci, increasingly recognized for its wine tourism and gastronomy, are expected to cooperate on initiatives that highlight their local identities and attract new visitors.
During the discussions, representatives of the two municipalities also reviewed concrete initiatives related to wine tourism development and strengthening economic cooperation between local businesses and entrepreneurs.
Officials described the twinning agreement as more than a symbolic gesture, emphasizing that it represents a practical foundation for future projects, exchange of experiences, and stronger regional connectivity between Macedonia and Montenegro.
With this partnership, Kavadarci and Budva aim to create new opportunities for development while strengthening friendship and institutional cooperation between the two municipalities.
