Trump Says He May Miss His Son’s Wedding as Iran Takes Priority

Donald Trump has said he may not attend the wedding of his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., because of his current responsibilities linked to Iran and other political matters. Trump Jr., 48, is expected to marry Bettina Anderson, a well known Palm Beach figure, during the weekend, with the ceremony reportedly planned as a small and private event in the Bahamas.

According to the reported plans, the wedding will take place on a small island in the Bahamas, with fewer than 50 guests invited. The guest list was intentionally limited in order to keep the ceremony intimate and away from wider public attention. Trump’s attendance was not expected, and his arrival was not included in the president’s public schedule.

Asked whether he would attend the wedding, Trump said he would try, but added that the timing was not convenient. He said his son would like him to be there, but described the ceremony as “a very small private event.” Trump explained that he was “in the middle of something,” referring to “Iran and other things,” and said the timing was difficult for him.

This will be the second marriage for Donald Trump Jr. He was previously married to Vanessa Trump for 12 years, and the couple divorced in 2018. From 2020 to 2024, he was engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is now the U.S. ambassador to Greece.
