Luka Modrić is reportedly preparing to bring an end to one of football’s most celebrated careers after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is expected to be his final major tournament with Croatia.
The Croatian midfield icon, who will turn 41 later this year, is said to be seriously considering retirement following the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Reports surrounding his future have intensified in recent days as uncertainty continues over the next step in his club career.
Modrić has repeatedly emphasized his desire to continue competing at the highest level until the World Cup, viewing the tournament as the ideal final chapter of his playing journey.
