Earthquake Recorded Near Ribnik in Republika Srpska

A mild earthquake was recorded early Wednesday morning near Ribnik in Republika Srpska, according to local authorities.

The earthquake occurred at 5:57 a.m. and had a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was located about 10 kilometers southwest of Ribnik.

Authorities said that an earthquake of this strength is not expected to cause damage to buildings, although residents in the area may have felt the shaking.

Some people near the epicenter reported a short tremor, ground movement and brief noise. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The earthquake serves as a reminder that the wider Balkan region remains seismically active, although most smaller tremors do not cause serious consequences.
