Primož Roglič appears to be entering one of the most important decisions of the final stage of his cycling career, as his time with Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe is expected to end after this season.
The Slovenian cycling star is under contract with the German team until the end of 2026, but team manager Ralph Denk has confirmed that Roglič will no longer continue with the team after that period. This has opened speculation about where the 36 year old champion could continue his career.
Roglič joined Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe after leaving Jumbo Visma, the team with which he achieved many of the biggest successes of his career. His move was seen as an opportunity to lead a new project and fight for more Grand Tour victories, especially at the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España.
However, the situation inside the team has changed. Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe has been building a strong squad for the future, including riders such as Remco Evenepoel, Florian Lipowitz and Jai Hindley. That has raised questions about Roglič’s role and whether he would still have full leadership support in future Grand Tours.
For now, Roglič has not publicly confirmed where he will ride next. Cycling media have linked him with several possible teams, while some reports suggest that he is not ready to end his career yet and may want at least one more season at the highest level.
