Residents of Kočani will once again gather this Saturday for the 47th edition of the “March of the Angels,” a peaceful demonstration organized by the Association “16 March 2025.” The march will begin at 18:05 from Revolution Park, continuing the community’s ongoing call for accountability following the tragic fire that claimed 63 lives. Organizers say their message has remained unchanged since the first march, justice must be fully delivered.
According to the association, every new court hearing and every piece of evidence presented during the legal proceedings has revealed additional failures and systemic shortcomings that they believe contributed to the tragedy. They argue that such disasters are not isolated events but the result of years of institutional negligence, making accountability essential not only for the victims and their families but also for preventing similar incidents in the future.
The organizers emphasize that the march is about more than remembrance. They describe participation as a public stand in support of stronger institutions, transparent investigations, and a justice system capable of ensuring responsibility at every level. In their appeal to citizens, they stress that each person attending sends a message that the victims will not be forgotten and that public pressure for justice will continue until all responsible parties are held accountable.
As Kočani prepares for the latest march, the demonstration remains a symbol of collective remembrance and civic determination. Nearly four months after the tragedy, families, friends, and supporters continue to insist that the loss of 63 lives must lead to meaningful institutional change. Their message remains clear: justice is not a one time demand but a commitment that must continue until every question is answered and every responsibility is addressed.
