Croatian prosecutors have indicted a 26-year-old dual citizen of Croatia and Serbia for allegedly attempting to smuggle 10.5 kilograms—about 23 pounds—of cocaine from Croatia into Serbia.
Croatia’s Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime, known as USKOK, filed the indictment before the County Court in Osijek.
The defendant is charged with unauthorized drug production and trafficking as part of a criminal organization.
Prosecutors allege that between November 2025 and April 2026, he worked with several unidentified individuals in Serbia, Croatia and other European Union countries to obtain, transport and resell large quantities of cocaine to prearranged buyers.
According to the indictment, the suspect arranged with unidentified individuals in Serbia to collect cocaine in Croatia, transport it across the border and deliver it to buyers.
On April 30, he allegedly received 10.5 kilograms of cocaine from an unidentified person in Croatia’s Vukovar-Srijem County. The drugs were divided into 11 packages.
Authorities said the cocaine was concealed in the vehicle’s trunk and beneath its rear seat before the suspect headed toward Serbia.
Police searched the car later that day at the Bajakovo border crossing and discovered the entire shipment.
