Macedonia and Azerbaijan are preparing to establish a new framework for sports cooperation during Macedonian Sports Minister Borko Ristovski’s official visit to Azerbaijan.
Ristovski will remain in the country through September 27 and is scheduled to meet Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Minister Farid Gayibov.
The two officials are expected to discuss opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation and sign a memorandum of understanding between their ministries.
Ristovski to Meet Azerbaijani Sports Minister
The bilateral meeting will focus on strengthening institutional ties and developing new partnerships between Macedonia and Azerbaijan in the field of sports.
The memorandum is expected to establish cooperation in several areas, including the exchange of experts, coaches and other sports professionals.
It will also cover sports medicine and the exchange of knowledge and professional experience between the two countries.
Sports Cooperation to Include Events and Tourism
The two ministries plan to cooperate on organizing sporting events and developing sports tourism.
The agreement will also encourage direct partnerships between national sports organizations in Macedonia and Azerbaijan.
According to Macedonia’s Ministry of Sports, the memorandum will create a formal framework for long-term cooperation and allow both countries to exchange expertise across different areas of sports development.
