President Donald Trump visited suburban Medinah, Illinois, this past Sunday, to attend the final round of the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club, where he served as the tournament’s honorary chairman. Trump briefly addressed spectators before the singles matches, praising the players and telling the crowd, “Our country is doing great, better than ever before.”
The event was held under heightened security measures, with additional screening and security restrictions in place because of the president’s visit.
The 2026 Presidents Cup was held at Medinah Country Club from September 22–27, with the United States defeating the International Team in Sunday’s singles matches.
Among the Balkan-American representatives attending the major international sporting event were American Balkan Trade Center founders The ABTC delegation had the opportunity to greet President Trump during the event.
For the American Balkan Trade Center, participation at an event of this scale represented an opportunity for members of the Balkan-American community to be present alongside business, institutional and community leaders at a major gathering in the Chicago area.
The appearance also highlighted ABTC’s efforts to strengthen relationships between the United States and Balkan communities and to create new opportunities for cooperation, business and connections between the two regions.
