Telekom Srbija plans to enter the U.S. telecommunications market on December 1, offering mobile packages starting at $29 with unlimited calls to Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.

The announcement was made by Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lučić during an appearance on TV Pink, according to Serbian news outlet B92.

The company’s expansion is aimed particularly at people with family and business connections to the Balkans, offering mobile connectivity in the United States alongside international calling and access to Serbian television channels.

$29 Mobile Plans and Nationwide AT&T Network Access

According to Lučić, Telekom Srbija’s U.S. mobile service will operate using the network of American telecommunications provider AT&T.

The arrangement is intended to give customers coverage across the United States without Telekom Srbija having to build its own American mobile network.

The planned $29 package will include unlimited calls to Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro, as well as access to Telekom Srbija television channels.

Lučić said the company had spent nearly a year working to obtain the necessary authorization to operate in the American market.

The U.S. launch represents another stage in Telekom Srbija’s international expansion, following its activities in several European countries.

The company is also expanding in Germany, where Lučić said it has been opening new locations, including a recently established branch in Frankfurt.

Its strategy includes reaching German cities with substantial Serbian diaspora communities.

Telekom Srbija Pursues U.S. AI Partnerships and 5G Expansion

Alongside its telecommunications business, Telekom Srbija is seeking partnerships with American technology companies working in artificial intelligence.

Lučić said the company wants to help bring advanced technologies to southeastern Europe while supporting the international commercialization of Serbian-developed products.

Among the projects supported through its startup investment activities are a highly sensitive robotic arm, smart glasses capable of automatically adjusting optical correction, and digital tools designed to protect films and television programs against unauthorized AI-based modification.

According to Lučić, approximately 1,000 prototypes of the smart glasses have already been developed, with discussions underway involving major manufacturers.

He also said Telekom Srbija is testing digital content protection technology with American media company Newsmax.

The company plans to continue developing its 5G network in Serbia through the end of 2026 while preparing for future 6G technologies, whose initial deployment is expected around 2030.

Lučić also addressed the company’s ongoing regulatory difficulties in Kosovo, saying Telekom Srbija would continue pursuing legal remedies and seeking an additional telecommunications license.

For Balkan communities in the United States, the most immediate development is the planned December 1 launch and the proposed $29 mobile package connecting customers with countries in the region.
