Air Serbia has temporarily postponed two flights between Belgrade and Catania following the closure of the airport in the Sicilian city.
The schedule change affects flight JU438 from Belgrade to Catania and return flight JU439 from Catania to Belgrade, both originally scheduled for Monday.
The airline said the new departure times would depend on developments at Catania Airport and the potential availability of alternative airports.
Air Serbia remains in regular contact with airport officials in Sicily and plans to organize new departures as soon as conditions allow flights to operate safely.
Air traffic in Sicily was also disrupted Friday after a cloud of volcanic ash and a lava fountain from Mount Etna’s Voragine crater spread over the area surrounding Catania’s Vincenzo Bellini Airport.
