Two men have died, and a third remains critically injured after a serious traffic accident in Charlotte, North Carolina. The tragedy has prompted a fundraising campaign to support three families in the Serbian community.

Davor Barišić and Nemanja Ljepojević lost their lives in the crash. Srđan Lazić suffered severe injuries and remains in intensive care at a Charlotte medical center.

The St. Simeon the Myrrh-Flowing Serbian Orthodox Church has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help their families.

According to Serbian Times, Barišić and Ljepojević came from the Banja Luka region. Both had lived in the United States for more than a decade.

Each man leaves behind a wife and two children. Lazić is also a father of two.

The deaths have deeply affected friends, relatives and members of the local church community.

Church Launches Fundraiser for Three Families

The Serbian Orthodox parish in Charlotte is raising money for funeral expenses, medical care and other urgent needs.

The campaign will help cover transportation and funeral costs for Barišić and Ljepojević. It will also support Lazić’s treatment and recovery.

Church organizers say they will divide all donations equally among the three families.

The fundraiser, titled “For Davor, Nemanja and Srđan’s Families,” has a goal of $120,000.

Community members have already begun contributing, with donations coming from people who want to help the families through the crisis.

The parish has invited supporters to donate and keep the families in their prayers.

The church is also expected to share further information as the situation develops.

Friends Remember Two Devoted Fathers

Friends have shared emotional tributes to Barišić and Ljepojević on social media.

According to Serbian Times, the two men were active members of their community. They enjoyed fishing, football, tennis and other activities with friends.

They also took part in church gatherings and community sports events.

In one tribute, a friend recalled their laughter, warmth and love for their families.

The message described both men as devoted husbands and fathers who made others feel welcome.

Their friends said the memories of shared celebrations, songs and community events would remain part of their lives.

The tragedy has left six children across the three affected families facing an uncertain and difficult period.

As Lazić continues receiving medical care, the Serbian community in Charlotte is working to provide financial and emotional support.

The fundraising effort offers a way for friends, neighbors and members of the wider Balkan diaspora to help the families.
