A new artistic tribute dedicated to legendary Croatian singer Oliver Dragojević has been installed in Vela Luka, his hometown on the island of Korčula, nearly eight years after his death. The installation, placed at the town’s small harbor where he often spent time, has quickly attracted attention from locals and visitors.
The work, titled “Tek sad vidim što mi znači,” features a pair of glasses—symbolically connected to Dragojević’s younger years—positioned to face the sea, reflecting his deep bond with the place and the Adriatic. The tribute is described as an emotional and unconventional way of honoring one of the most important figures in regional music.
For the people of Vela Luka, Dragojević’s music remains an essential part of local identity and memory, with songs such as “Sjećanje na Velu Luku” continuing to carry special meaning. The new installation adds to how his legacy is preserved, offering visitors a moment to connect with the environment that inspired much of his life and work.
