The United States has signed a contract with Colt for the production of rifles for Macedonia

The U.S. Department of Defense announced that it has awarded a contract to firearms manufacturer Colt Manufacturing, with a maximum value of $40.86 million (€35.4 million), for the production of M4/M4A1 rifles for foreign partners, including Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will support foreign military sales to Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iraq, and Tunisia, the U.S. Department of Defense said in a notice earlier this week.

The contract is expected to be completed by March 31, 2031. Macedonia has been a NATO member since 2020. Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a NATO member but has been part of the alliance’s Partnership for Peace (PfP) program since 2006.
