Tensions between the United States and Iran have sharply escalated, with both sides exchanging direct threats over potential military action and control of key energy routes.
The U.S. president warned that if Iran does not agree to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, Washington could launch strikes on Iranian infrastructure within hours, including power plants and bridges.
In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a strong statement via state media, making clear that Tehran would not hesitate to retaliate.
“We will respond with strikes on American infrastructure and that of its partners, leaving them and their allies without oil and gas from the region for years,” the statement said.
The IRGC further warned that U.S. leaders underestimate the scope of potential Iranian retaliation, suggesting that critical assets could be targeted in the event of an attack.
“If the U.S. military crosses our red lines, our response will expand beyond the region,” the statement added, signaling the possibility of a wider conflict with global implications.
