The United States has strongly denied Iranian reports claiming that an American warship was struck by missiles in the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier, Iranian media announced that their forces had fired two missiles at a US naval vessel near the strategic waterway, alleging the ship ignored warnings and was forced to withdraw after being hit.
However, US officials quickly responded, calling the claims false and misleading, and confirming that no US Navy ship has been damaged or hit.
According to the Pentagon, American forces continue normal operations in the region without any reported incidents.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the most sensitive topics in global trade, with a significant portion of the world’s oil passing through it daily. Any disruption in the area immediately raises global concerns.
This comes amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, especially after the US launched efforts to secure maritime routes and ensure safe passage for commercial vessels in the region.
So far, there is no independent confirmation supporting Iran’s claims, and analysts warn that such statements may be part of ongoing war of informations between the two sides.
For now, the situation remains tense but unclear, with both sides standing by their versions of events.
