The Rolling Stones Announce “Foreign Tongues,” a New 14-Track Album Set for July 10

The Rolling Stones have confirmed a new studio album titled “Foreign Tongues,” scheduled for release on July 10, 2026. The album is presented as the band’s 25th studio release and will include 14 songs, with the singles “In the Stars” and “Rough and Twisted” already announced as the first introduction to the new material.

The album was produced by Andrew Watt, who also worked on the band’s 2023 album “Hackney Diamonds.” The new material was recorded in London over roughly one month and is described as relying on blues, country, rock and the recognizable songwriting style of the band.

At the center of the album are Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, joined again by longtime collaborators Steve Jordan, Darryl Jones and Matt Clifford. The album will also feature major guest names, including Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith of The Cure and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers.

One of the most significant details is that the album will include material from one of the final studio sessions of Charlie Watts, the band’s drummer who died in 2021. The reports present this as an emotional and symbolic connection between the band’s present work and its long history.

The announcement followed a mysterious promotional campaign in London, where posters appeared under the name “The Cockroaches,” a pseudonym previously used by the band for secret performances and promotions. The campaign included QR codes and messages to fans, gradually leading to the reveal of the new album.

The new album comes after “Hackney Diamonds,” which in 2023 marked the Rolling Stones’ strong return with original material. Unlike that release, the new project is being framed less as a comeback and more as a continuation of the band’s creative momentum, showing that the Rolling Stones are still recording and releasing new music after more than six decades of activity.
