Barcelona Defeat Real Madrid 2–0 and Seal La Liga Title in El Clásico

Barcelona secured the La Liga title in the most symbolic way, defeating Real Madrid 2–0 in El Clásico and mathematically confirming the championship in front of their greatest rival. The victory came in the 35th round of the Spanish league and gave the Catalan club its 29th league title.

The match was presented as one of the sweetest possible title celebrations for Barcelona, because the trophy was confirmed directly against Real Madrid. Before the game, Barcelona needed only a draw to become champion, but the team delivered a full victory and turned the match into a celebration at the stadium.

Rashford and Torres Decide the Match Early

Barcelona took control of the match quickly. Marcus Rashford scored a spectacular free-kick in the ninth minute to give the home side a 1–0 lead. Only nine minutes later, Ferran Torres doubled the advantage after an assist from Dani Olmo, putting Barcelona 2–0 ahead before the midway point of the first half.

That early lead proved decisive. By halftime, Barcelona was already close to writing a historic moment, and in the second half the team protected the advantage, completed the victory and officially confirmed the title.

Flick’s Emotional Night

The title night carried a strong emotional weight for Barcelona coach Hansi Flick. Earlier that same day, he suffered a major family loss after the death of his father, but still led the team from the touchline in the decisive match. After the final whistle, Flick appeared visibly emotional and said he would never forget the day.

Flick thanked the supporters for their backing and said he was very happy because the title was fully deserved. The fans responded with strong support from the stands, chanting “Thank you, Flick” in honor of the coach who led Barcelona to another major trophy.

A Result That Echoed Beyond the Stadium

The result also drew attention outside Barcelona’s stadium. A video circulated showing PSG coach Luis Enrique’s reaction when he was told the El Clásico result, after Barcelona had beaten Real Madrid 2–0 and secured the title.

The reports present the night as a complete Barcelona triumph: a derby victory, a confirmed league title, an emotional moment for Flick and a celebration made even more powerful because it came directly against Real Madrid.
